Bridal fashion week 2017 presented some very interesting hair and makeup trends for this season, from pink eye-shadow and matching lips to shimmery cheeks. However, when talking about trends we have to keep in mind that the Riviera Maya has a tropical climate, most ceremonies are at the beach, its a very humid weather; so we have to pick the trends that work well in this setting. So lets talk about some of the wedding trends that we are very excited about and how these trends have been used in our local Tulum weddings!
Strobing
We are really excited about a makeup technique called “strobing”. Strobing is the new contouring; is all about getting the perfect glow, using highlighter in a way that catches the light in the right places (cheek bones, nose bridge, etc). It looks fabulous in pictures!
Greenery
Believe it or not, the biggest floral trend for 2017 is no flowers at all! Instead, brides are choosing simple arrangements of leaves, branches or palms, inserting lots of greenery with minimalist vibes.
This is also true for the flower crowns and bouquets, and here are some examples on how the brides are rocking these trends right on the beach!
Greenery crowns
If you were dreaming of that boho-chic wedding and you pictured yourself wearing a flower crown, well we have good news for you! Crowns are still in fashion this season, and they are even better! Adding a punch of green and a couple colorful flowers it just turned out to be a perfect trend that you can rock in your beach wedding!

Bouquets & decorations
Talking about adding this splashes of green to the wedding, this year the trend is to replace the flowers in your bouquets and in the general decorations with just beautiful leafs and foliage. We wanted to show you how beautiful these green decorations look with the turquoise Caribbean ocean as a background!

Red lips- with tinge of orange
And yes!!! Red lips are in fashion this year; and it’s a come back with a twist! In the bridal fashion week the models rock some gorgeous red lips with a tinge of orange. Right here one of our favorite brides showed us that red-orange lips not only look good in the runway, but look gorgeous at the beach!
