What’s your name and where do you come from ? 

My name is Jonathan Cossu and I come from Pisa, Italy

Where did you study photography and how long have you been a photographer ? 

I went to art school and studied design and that’s how my love for photography developed. Everything I know now has been documenting myself over the years, watching learning from artists that inspire me and creating my own vision.

How long have you been working in the Mayan Riviera and why did you decide to work in this destination ? 

I arrived to the mayan Riviera in 1996 and it’s where I met the mother of my  2 kids. This is now my home .

How long have you been a wedding photographer and why did you choose to shoot weddings ?

I started shooting weddings in 1998 inspired by the emotion and the stories of each couple I meet. I love to laugh, dance and capture real moments. I truly enjoy working with couples who like my crazy personality, trust my vision and treat me as a friend.

How would you describe your wedding photography style ? 

Relaxed and authentic documentary style with an artistry twist, focused unstrung and beautiful moments that convey a story. Love to use vibrant colors and play with unique compositions.

Are you working alone or with a team ? 

On the wedding day, I always work with professional second shooter for a dynamic coverage. but before the actual wedding, I am lucky to have an amazing wedding planner in the team to help my couples with their planning, logistics and any questions they might have.

What is your best wedding shoot memory ? 

I have too many, this is why I love what I do.

Which word you describe the best your job ? 

Emotional

What is the best advice you could tell the brides and grooms who are reading this interview for their wedding day ? 

Your wedding photos are all you’ll have in the end, so take some time to find that perfect match (think long time friend). Go with someone who you feel identified with, someone committed that will offer you quality over quantity, someone who cares and whom you know will be fun to have around.
