Summer is here! – How to protect your skin .

Since we’ve been at home for about three months if feels like summer arrived without us even noticing. However, the high temperatures are here and we need to take care of our body, specially our skin. We’ve decided to give you our top 5 tips to keep your skin radiant this summer, whether you are staying home or you have plans to visit the Riviera Maya.

Make friends with H20

Higher temperatures, wearing a facemask when going outside and just spending some  time at the beach or even your terrace leads to internal dehydration, which can result in headaches and dizzy spells!

Avoid dehydration by drinking a minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses of plain, filtered water every day help maintain critical moisture balance of the body and skin, and assist in detoxification. Tip: If you drink caffeinated beverages, you must triple the amount of water you drink!

If you are chilling at the beach in Tulum, order some coconut water!. Coconut water has natural electrolytes to keep you hydrated, this is a great option containing natural sugars.

Add Antioxidants to your beauty regime & diet.

You can include antioxidants in your skin care regimen by adding them to your diet, so the summer is the perfect time to add some citrus fruits, green and leafy vegetables, green tea, nuts, and whole grains to your meals and have younger looking skin.

Time to scrub – Exfoliate!

Most of the year dermatologist recommend not to over-exfoliate, but summertime it’s the season to scrub away. If you have oily skin, incorporating an exfoliator into your skin-care routine would be super beneficial, check out some DIY scrub recipes or head down to the beach and let the sand work its magic.

Keep your skin hydrated

You can improve your hydration regimen with intensive face masques, perfect for use one to two times a week. Boosters are a great fit, working best when layered underneath a moisturizer. Toners are a refreshing moisturizer prep, working to even out skin porosity.

Top Tip: Refresh with a revitalizing toner spritz at your desk, in the car, at the gym, beach bag, on the plane!

Protect your skin!

Don’t leave home without wearing sunscreen. Make sure your sunscreen is reef friendly, let’s take care of the Riviera Maya coral reefs. There’s lots of great reef friendly sunscreen options, click here for some ideas.

Pink blush & bold lips

Natural makeup is quickly becoming one of the most beloved beauty looks for 2020, and it’s always been our favorite look. Highlighting our brides’ beauty, while looking as natural as possible, has always been part of our style. But no natural makeup look is complete without a bold lip and a touch of blush to highlight your cheeks.

Pink blush has become one of the favorites of this year and the end of the wedding season of 2019. You will probably agree that a bit of pink blush it’s always a girl’s best friend, it will accentuate your cheeks and give you that rosy touch to complete your look.

Be bold with a Pop of color and some dazzling glam!

This year is for the bold and daring. If bold lips are not for you, try to add a coloured eyeliner or a touch of shimmery hue to your eyelids to make your bridal look pop.

Flower crowns were the favorite hair accessory of 2018 and 2019, but in 2020 that trend is getting a revamp! Although we love flower crowns and they were the perfect accessory for a boho-Tulum bride, this year flowers are being replaced by dazzling crystals and ornate headpieces fit for a Caribbean mermaid bride.
