Dreamed wedding in Mayakoba

We always love sharing real weddings and we recently had the honor to be part of a Olessya & Diego’s wedding in Mayakoba.

It was such an amazing destination wedding, the guest came from all over the world (Canada, Russia, Mexico), quite a multicultural wedding (just like Playa del Carmen)

For this blog we decided to do a quick interview to our gorgeous bride Olessya. We hope you enjoy it and it inspires you plan your destination wedding in the Mexican Caribbean!

Where did you two meet?

We met at University in 2014 and have been together since then. The proposal took place in January 2019 in our apartment. The groom served dinner and called the dog into the dining room because the ring was attached to the dog’s collar.

Tell us about the inspiration for your big day. (colour scheme, decor, etc)

Our colours were mainly white and Rose Gold with a touch of pastel. We chose those colours because we wanted to give the impression of elegancy with minimalistic

You looked like a princess! Can you tell us about your wedding dress?

I went to the most popular Russian wedding dress store called Mary Trufel located in Moscow. (Instagram: marytrufel_official). I did flew to Moscow to tried it and purchased the dress. I picked the Rara Avis wedding dress – princess style named Elba.

We had so much fun taking care of you and your bridesmaids! Can you tell me more about them?

I had 3 bridesmaids. Vita my older sister, Vika my best friend since we were 14 and Liza an old family friend.

It was definitely a dreamed wedding! Please describe your top 5 moments.

#5: Getting ready. I had so much fun sharing the time when we were getting ready. We got to share emotions, feelings, jokes and wine.

#4: Speeches. I like this time personally because I got to know my friends and Diego’s friends from a different perspective. Some of those words I did not expect myself.

#3: The dance. We practice for over 2 months, we went to classes in order to look somewhat decent. During our performance we were so nervous that we improvise and we were having so much fun because nobody knew what was improvised and what not.

#2: The ceremony. I felt like in a Disney’s movie because it was beautifully set up, it was delivered in 3 languages and that I never felt so happy and so nervous at the same time. I felt that it was in a dream.

#1. The first look. See each other for the first time, both of us beautifully dressed up. The feeling that I made the right choice and that we were going to spend the rest of our lives with the person we loved. It was so emotional because we crying and connected at an emotional level.

At home DIY beauty tips!

Since we are spending more time at home and less outside, some of us are missing our beauty professionals, right? So… let’s enjoy a relaxing girly moment at home. We would love to share a couple of recipe ideas with our brides, so when we see you here in the Riviera Maya your skin and hair will be glowing and ready for your destination wedding.

Make your beauty routine a moment to enjoy!

The key is to enjoy every second of your routine. the good news is that in this period we have time….
Take time to hydrate your skin drinking water ( you can add spirulina, Jamaica for more properties ) and tone with a short cold shower.
A good tip to Remember: the muscles of your face are just like the muscles on your body, so help them tone and improve the circulation by massaging them constantly (Check out our blog about skin roller- to improve circulation and tone your face). link

Create a couple of homemade face scrubs

If you would like to take a break from a long day doing home-office, we have the solution! You can make your own simple exfoliating face scrubs at home, really easily and here a couple of examples:

Sweet & Sour:

The breakfast scrub

  • 1/4 cup uncooked oats
  • 1/8 cup honey
  • 1/8 cup olive oil

Oats, honey and olive oil make this a little different spin from the honey and oatmeal facial scrub. But it’s incredibly simple and great for skin that is aching for moisture.

Pamper your hair

Being at home doing some home office has its perks, take the advantage of the situation and pamper your hair, and since we are into the DIY here’s a couple of products from your kitchen that will revive your hair!

Say goodbye to the Split Ends With an Avocado and Olive Oil Hair Mask

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • One-to-two teaspoons olive oil.

Mix the mashed avocado and the olive oil, separate your hair into four sections. Use your fingertips or a brush to paint it on each section, starting at the bottom. You won’t want to apply it to the roots or your scalp. Then, put on a towel or shower cap and wait 30 minutes. Rinse it off in the shower with a little shampoo and then apply a little conditioner. You will notice wonders!

The perfect eyeliner style for you!

The eyes are one of the most important beauty features of your face, they can transform your look from natural to glamorous in just a couple of seconds!

Let’s talk about the different eyeliner options that we have available.
You can choose your eyeliner based on the style you would like to achieve and one that you feel comfortable with.

Let’s begin with the basics…

  • Pencil Eyeliner – This is one is super popular and is available in different colors. dryer texture..like a pencil
  • Compact Eyeliner – You will need a brush to apply it and a little bit more practice. texture cream all colors
  • Liquid Eyeliner – Great to create a variety of styles, it gives you lots of flexibility but it does take a little hand control and maybe a little more practice to master. Liquid texture.
  • Gel Eyeliner – Dark and bold, perfect for glamorous looks. in between cream and gel texture

The right technique for your eye shape can be a game-changer. With the right technique and tools, you can make magic…you can change hooded eyes into big and glamorous eyes.

So now that we know the tools, let’s talk about your eye shape. Knowing your eye shape is super important and it will help you to choose the perfect technique to enhance your beauty and create the perfect look.

Figuring out the shape of your eyes can be a little tricky,  check out this tutorial to help you figure out your eye shape! Check out the tutorial!

Almond shape eyes

Lucky girl! You look gorgeous with pretty much any eyeliner style, you can rock the cat eyes and even some more artistic looks. To enhance your beautiful shape you can start with a thin line in the inner corner and building up the thickness once you reach the outer part of your eye..if you are feeling bold or you are ready for a night out finish up with a wing in the end for the cat-eye effect.

Downturned eyes

Let’s open up that look! Begin by brightening up the inner eye, then Focus on the top lash line, starting directly below the highest point of your arch, and then think up and outward. A small upward flick of eyeliner at the outer corners will open up your beautiful eyes

Round eyes

The perfect way to frame your big beautiful eyes is to use the eyeliner to elongate them into an exotic look.  Use the eyeliner to create an upper lash line and elongate your look by drawing a wing or by smudging dark liner into both the upper and lower lash lines.

Hooded eyes

You can make the liner as thick as you want (since the line will be cover).  If you wanna achieve the cat-eye effect start with a thick, elongated wing that will give your eyes a gorgeous shape and definition. Or you can make your eyes look rounder by making the liner thicker in the center of your eye, and thinner at the corners. This creates the illusion of an eye that’s more curved. Try to avoid  bottom eyeliner, which can close off your eyes, making them look smaller

1-    What’s your name and where do you come from ?

My name is Manuel Cappellari and I moved here from Argentina 8 years ago with my family; my wife and two little boys. Some know me as Manu, and others as Viejo Lobo, it’s a words game.

2-    Where did you study photography and how long have you been a photographer ?

I’m a self-taught photographer. I’m very curious, I read everything I can find and ask a lot of questions. Although I had an unique school in Tulum. In the beginning, I was fortunate to work as a producer assistant for a fashion production company based in Tulum, Cocoshoot Productions, with clients like Victoria Secret, Vogue, Elle, big ones! The photographers were incredible, the TOP models are amazing, so many people to do one pic? I couldn’t believe it. But then I learned that the photography was just another part of the work.

3-    How long have you been working in the Riviera Maya and why did you decide to work in this destination ?

I started working for the destination before moving here. We were collaborating from our advertising agency in Argentina with a local project in Tulum, a magazine called Republica. That’s how we learned that some dreams may come true and that we could try living in the Caribbean. We can’t be thankful enough!

4-    How long have you been a wedding photographer and Why did you choose to shoot weddings?

Although I started shooting weddings by accident, right away I discovered that it was the most full-filling for me. In fashion all is beautiful and very profesional, but very technical as well, nothing is spontaneous. In a wedding instead, everything is unique: the Yes I Do, the first kiss, the hugs, the first dance. That’s what makes wedding photos so important, they will last for ever. It’s the beginning of a family. Wow!

5-    How would you describe your wedding-photography style?

Relaxed and real, that’s the idea. No fake, please. If I could make myself invisible, it’d be perfect. I try not to interfere with what is happening so I can get the real feel. Of course we always have the portrait session with the couple and all the family, but most of the time I’m surrounding the couple and trying to get all the little moments.

6-    Are you working alone or with a team ?

We are a team running the business, but I’m the eye behind the camera and the editor of my photos and videos. I think of it as an art, but I had to learn how to delegate a little, emails and the administration mostly.

7-   What is your best wedding shoot memory ?

My first wedding. I do remember getting to the beach, and the view of the palm trees and the pelicans and all the place dressed up, like a dream… it was a bit shocking! And then I understood what a Destination Wedding was about.

8-  Which word would you use to describe your job?

Feelings.

9- What is the best advice you could tell to the brides and Groom who are reading this interview for their wedding day?

Listen to your wedding planner, be yourself, and enjoy the moment. Be careful with Pinterest, the boards can look beautiful but many of them have editorial purposes and are not real weddings.
