We decided to share Erika and Nathan’s magic cenote wedding . They said “I do” in certainly one of our magic cenotes of the Riviera Maya. Both were looking for an unique experience. They choose a wild and natural site to have a mayan ceremony with their family and friends.
The word Cenote comes from the mayan “tz-onot” which basically means water hole or abysm . Cenotes were very important for the Mayans, because it was their main fresh water source. Mayans also believed that Cenotes were the “passage” or connection with the “underworld” .
Cenotes were also important ceremonial sites, Mayans believed that Chaak the good of water inhabited those sites. Mayans would bring offerings to ask the god for rain during drought periods.
Del Sol Photography took a lot of amazing pictures of this romantic scene in this luxurious jungle.
The bride also chose an elegant low bun and a bright make up to look perfect on her wedding dress for her magic cenote wedding. Firstly the shooting photo take place in the beautiful jungle . Secondly you will go slowly into the water to eventually “trash your dress”.
We are definitely glad we have been part of this happy day . All our professional team of hairdresser and make up artist had a great time making beautiful our bride for her photo session. We wish a lot of love to Erika and Nathan for their union and hope to see you soon for a underwater photo shooting.
