We love telling our beautiful brides about the new techniques out there… And before you “say yes” to microblading and getting it done for your wedding day, here’s some details you need to know…
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent tattooing. That involves using tiny, fine-point needles (instead of a tattoo gun) that make up a small disposable blade and handle (a very weird looking tool, right?) . That helps scratch and deposit the pigment under your skin evenly and simultaneously. Unlike the tatoo gun, there’s many shapes and sizes of the microblading needles, which allows the artist to create your dreamed brow shape for your wedding!
(The holder might vary, this pic is just to give you an idea of the type of needles used for the process)
Is microblading for me?
Yes, definitely! Microblading is customizable and it’s for everyone. From girls with zero brows, blonde ultra-faint brows, or girls who just need a little help filling the arches. However, you do need to find a microblading artist who has enough experience and can create different styles, shapes and match your eyebrow color before your wedding.
How do I find the right artist for me?
Ask them to see their portfolio (it can be their FB or Instagram account), make sure they have pictures of various brow shapes and colors, that the color match, and of course… Read the clients reviews.
Does it hurts? How long it takes to heal?
Before you get to the Riviera Maya and if you are thinking about getting your brows done. here a couple of details you need to know. Microblading is a lengthy process. You need to let your brows peal, heal, geat the correct shade and then do a touch up. So if you are thinking about getting it done before the wedding , allow at least 4 months before the big day and allow the hole process to take place.
Well, to be honest it does hurts a little bit. After all, you had needles going through your skin to deposit ink pigments under your brow tissue. So it’s a little bit like a more sophisticated tattoo. So you will need to follow the after care instructions your artist indicates, a bit like a tatto… Applying creams and letting your skin peal a little after it reveals the beautiful outcome. Although you will see the final outcome once the session is done. A couple of days later you will experience a bit of pealing off and a tiny bit of discomfort. Here’s a great inforgaphic from SumanBrows London, on what to expect after you get your brows done.
How long it takes & how long it lasts?
It takes about two hours. But what take the longest is the numbing cream they use before they go ahead with the microblading. It lasts around one to three years, but a couple months after you get it done you will need to go for a touch up in order to finalize the pigmentation. After that, you might need a touch up after 12 months or more.
